Use a Pro Duo Memory Stick in a Regular Duo Adapter

In my laptop I have a small adapter on the side of it. It supports SD, DUO, and some other one that I'm too lazy to find out.

Well in the extreme case that my PSP was bricked and I needed a memstick I decided to use it.
Little did I know that it would get stuck and I would spend 30 min fishing it out.

So another day I decided to improvise and use some common office tools.
TAPE AND A PAPER CLIP

To begin get out a paper clip and put on the bottom of the memstick

Put the paper clip along the center of the bottom
The image above is screwed up thanks to blogger but whatever.

Tape it down securely.
The method I used was to tape it down across the top of the memstick to
bind it to the card and them lengthwise of the paper clip to secure it more.

Now just test it to make sure that it won't fall apart.
Then just slide it in.

Works like a charm.
Keep in mind that it will still register as a DUO on the computer.

PSP hacking

OK so I have recieved my Datel Battery tool and put CFW on my PSP and I am ready to go back to theming.

Also if anyone happens to goto S.I.T.H.S. (You will know this if you go there.)
I am willing to put Custom FirmWare and allow you to play free games and backup your games and other cool things. I have 5th period lunch and I can usualy be found either in the lunchroom or library.

There is a price though. (Sorry. Pandora's Battery had a price and I need the cash.)

I only just discovered this because I wrote a small C program that compiles tax and sum. I made it so my friends don't under pay when we send someone out to go get Wendys. HA.

Theme Testing Problem

When I try to use themes and go into a game or shut down and restart the theme has reset and gone back to the Original theme. Has anyone else had a problem like this?
Do you have a fix?

Devil May Cry 4 Impressions

Just played the Devil May Cry 4 demo. I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY. How Capcom managed to pack that much detail into 640 MB of data is beyond me. The boss could've been harder though. Generally all the enemies were pretty off too. Hmm. I actually really REALLY wanted to fight through that street filled with demons but OK.

If you just can't take Berial down here is my strategy.

1. Run up to him as he won't attack so fiercely in the beginning.
2. Use the Devil Grabber (Just made this name up cuz I couldn't remember the actual name. It's the power you get from the crystal with the skull.)to pull up to his head and slash at him when you start to fall pull yourself up and repeat. Try not to fall as it leaves you vulnerable to his attacks.

3. When the Berail becomes unconscious attack a few times then run far away. He unleashes a HUGE explosion.

4. Just repeat 3 and 4.

Call of Duty 4 Cheats, Hints, and Tricks

Seeing as I haven't done much I'll post a few of my COD4 tricks.(Trust me these are definetly tricks. If you used these and your opponent couldn't see how they died, they would be cursing haX0r at you. Hell they'll be cursing at you anyway. I got cursed out just this afternoon.HA)

1. C4 three words can define this: Cage Match, Shipment

Awhile ago I posted about this. It is good in HQ but not as good as it is in Cage Match

2. The Martyrdom Strikes back: If you don't have martyrdom but your teammate does and he just died, chuck that thing. It can't hurt you.
3. The Spammers Deluxe: The Grenade Launcher.(Most annoying thing ever invented. It'll lower your reputation as a skilled gamer but hey whatever gets the points right.)

Well that's really it. The best thing for me is still the C4. Use it in Shipment to cover the path between the walls and the stacks of dumpsters, lie down and wait.

Oh and one more thing. I'll be playing right now so either add me as a friend and we'll play a game of Cage Match or just hunt for me in the COD4 Lobby and we'll still play Cage Match.

Old New Software

Well I had no clue about this but Lil-Chan released a theme builder awhile back that added support for custom sounds. To begin with I never knew how to insert new sounds but now that I can I will be implementing them into a few of my new themes.
Maybe I'll redo the old ones too.

My Best Custom Class in Call of Duty 4

I have had lots of custom classes in COD4.

The one that was longest used was my M4 Carbine one.
Essentially if I remember right
It was

M4 Carbine (Laser Dot Sight(Only if you fell better using it))

Perk 1: Claymores OR 3 Special Grenades (RPGs if you feel like it but they suck)
Perk 2: Stopping Power (Necessary the M4 is a terribly weak weapon)
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning (Running just that extra bit.)

Another Favorite is my M60E4 one.

M60E4 with Laser Sight

Perk 1: Claymore (You can change this but the M60E4 is really a campers weapon. It's powerful, long range, and really immobile.)
Perk 2: Stopping Power OR Double Tap OR UAV Jammer
Perk 3: Extreme Conditioning

and my best one so far is

the MP5 one
The MP5 is really strong as a short range weapon.

It's range is bad but it's power rivals the M60E4 but is more mobile and faster.
Sooooooooooo

MP5 (With favorite attachment. Mine is Laser Sight)
Perk 1: C4 (New idea in HQ: Lay C4 around the HQ once captured, and go far away or just camp around unseen. When you see their is someone there double tap [] and BOOM.)
Perk 2: Stopping Power (Makes the MP5 even more powerful.)
Perk 3: Extreme conditioning.

Well those are mine. But you could also use the GS3C. It's like a stronger M4.
The SAW (forgot full name) works well instead of the M60E4.
And the MP5 also works with the P90.

One reason why I didn't go with the P90 is it didn't feel good. It wasn't really a LIGHT machine gun. I felt heavy with it. And I preferred the MP5 anyway. HA

Yes I got the Playstation Portable. Now you may be thinking, Awesome now I can get PSP themes too. Sadly no. I will be putting Custom Firmware on it so unless I find a way to safely put themes on 3.71 M33, I will only be making wallpapers.

But hey maybe I'll make them but not test them. All who download could be beta testers.
As I have a duh PSP Slim, I am waiting for a Datel Battery Tool to start custom firmware.
(I had no other choice I have no homebrew PSP. Fat or Slim. I also do not think I could get someone to make one for me.)

So until the package arrives I will make maybe one. If I have the time.

In my absence I have taken on the requests of my friend for a Skate Theme.
When he asked me I was hit by inspiration for a God of War theme.
I also have come up with a Author Icon.

With my Doodles theme NEARLY DONE. (So close. For some reason all the images I uploaded to scrobix's software suddenly lost it's transparency.)

But anyway, ideas for a theme anyone?

Theming software update.

The Software I posted and reviewed, has been updated.

It seems to have fixed the main bugs.(I can click and close Help now :) )
It also makes theming a LITTLE easier by adding SD Backgrounds. A LITTLE.

I also have finished 99.9 % of the Doodles icons. I just need to finish the recieved and sent mailboxes.
After that. Make the icons transparent, then compile them.

Sadly, I have homework. I'll finish in a sec and will continue.
For now test out the new software.

Software evaluation

The 3rd party theming software I posted about awhile ago has been reviewed by me.

Well Theming is very easy for those of you whose memory is exceptional.
Why? Because when you are uploading your own icons the program doesn't show the original icon. So I recommend to either have your PS3 on or just look at your sample file.
Besides that, the software is in its early stages and has a few bugs. These bugs are not unavoidable and you can make Themes without hitting one of them.

But the software is overall good but I will stick to using the edit method.
I am still going to use this program for ONE theme.

The main Horizontal part of the XMB is done and now I only need to handle the Veritcal parts.
This theme will be called Doodles. The Icons and wallpaper are both hand drawn during math class.(In case you are wondering how my math grades are doing, I just recieved a 97 on my math test.)

Also with enough luck I can have it done by tomorrow.
NO WAY I can finish it now. (Vocabulary test tomorrow :( Yea Yea I know)
And I just got another idea from that sentence. But more on that tomorrow.

New 3rd party Theming Software.

From Playstation Forum Member sbcroix is a free theme editor that actually looks like a theme editor, unlike Sony's Official one(My opinion).

Overall it is great software.
I have yet to make a theme yet, but one is on the way. :)

One complaint though. Touch that Help Icon on top and the window it opens cannot be closed. Small problem. The Help Window has nothing useful.

Making a PS3 Theme.

Okay so lets begin.

1. Download this FILE

2. Unzip it and if you wanna stop here just read the PDF File and read me files.

3. But if you wanna learn how to make your icons transparent and what not read on.

4. Go find some nice icons. (Google Image Search, your own hard drive, etc.)

5 If you have photoshop skip this immediately!Download Gimpshop or if you have it already skip.

6. Open your icon in Gimpshop/Photoshop.

7. First of all add the Alpha Channel.
In Gimpshop, it's Layer > Transparency > Add Alpha Channel

8. ( Most nice icons that you will use will have some solid background color.)
So just select the color with the hand that points to the 3 colors.
(Shift + O)

9. If only the background is selected then move on.
If it selects more than the background, then switch to the Fill.
Fill the selected background with a color that is not on the image.

10. Erase the selected background.

11. If your image is not 128 x 128 pixels then go to Image > Image size and make it
so.

12. Save it as a PNG.

13. Go back to the PS3 compiler file. Open it and copy the sample file.

14. Go to the new copied sample file, open it choose the PS3 Icon you wish to change and remember the name. Go to your edited icon and give it that name.

15. Drag the editted file to the sample file and if you did everything right it should say would you like to replace Icon whatever with Icon Whatever.

16. Make more Icons.

17. Once you are done with all the icons you wish to edit, drag the XML file in the sample file to the PS3 Compiler.exe in the PS3 Compiler 101 file that you downloaded in the beginning of this.

18. Go back to your sample file and look for sample.p3t

19. Go get some way of transporting the file to your PS3. (Flashdrive, CD, etc.)

20. Okay make a PS3 file. In that PS3 file make a THEME file.
Drag the p3t file to the THEME file and bring it to your PS3 file.

21. In your PS3 go to Settings > Theme settings > Theme > Install > and sample.

22. Test your new theme and enjoy.

Long Huh. If you don't wanna make one then just download one of mine.
